It wasn't until beginning my studies at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama that I truly became fixated with the notion of creating. I was so creatively charged everyday, and decided to actively pursue my passion for art, illustration and photography.
My theatre training has taught me about discipline and adaptability, and my time in London has helped me to seek out beauty and wonder in every corner I look.
Elysia Allsopp is a classically trained singer and creative freelancer based in London. She began her professional journey by gaining experience as a performer in companies such as Vivo D'Arte (Parade, Oliver!), The Royal Opera House Community Chorus (dialogues des Carmélites), The Dorset Opera Festival Chorus (Fidelio, Aida, The Flying Dutchman, La Traviata) and the Linsdale Singers. She also gained experience in directing, performing and teaching theatre as part of Advance Theatre Company (Into the Woods, Oliver!, Side by Side by Sondheim, The Mikado). She gained a DipHE in Opera Studies from Rose Bruford College, and then went on to undertake classical vocal training at Associated Studios in London.
Community, outreach and participation have always been a key focus for Elysia, who's parents created the Leighton Buzzard Children's Theatre, a community arts organisation that has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to charity over its 25 year lifespan. So after completing her vocal studies she went on to gain a 1st Class Honours Degree in Drama, Appliec Theatre and Education from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Whilst studying at Central, Elysia took part in Applied Theatre Projects with Chickenshed Theatre Kensington & Chelsea and The Rochester Dickens Festival. She also co-founded Patchwork Theatre Company, who toured playwriting workshops around Primary and Secondary all around London
She went on to gain professional experience in facilitating a applied theatre projects for both companies and charities in multiple settings, including; The Royal Opera House (Take Five Summer School), Opera Holland Park (Out of the park Opera, Opera for Thought, Schools Tour and Matinee 2019) and Barons Court Project.
Elysia is also an experienced creative freelancer with vast experience in undertaking a multitude of creative projects, from art and photography to freelance writing. She has worked for corporate businesses, theatre companies and community groups, offering an innovative and versatile approach to a variety of creative ventures.
