Bio

Lissie Allsopp

I began my professional journey by gaining experience as a performer in companies such as Vivo D'Arte (Parade, Oliver!), The Royal Opera House Chorus (Dialogues des Carmélites) and The Dorset Opera Festival Chorus (Fidelio, Aida, The Flying Dutchman, La Traviata). I also gained experience as part of Advance Theatre Company (Into the Woods, Oliver!, Side by Side by Sondheim, The Mikado, The Addams Family). I then gained a DipHE in Opera Studies from Rose Bruford College, and went on to undertake classical training at Associated Studios in London.

Community, outreach and participation have always been a key focus for me. My parents created the Leighton Buzzard Children's Theatre, a community arts organisation that has donated over one hundred thousands pounds to charity over its 25 year lifespan. So after completing my vocal studies I went on to gain a 1st Class BA. Hons in Drama, Applied Theatre & Education from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Whilst studying at Central, I took part in Applied Theatre Projects with Chickenshed Theatre Kensington & Chelsea and The Rochester Dickens Festival.

I went on to gain professional experience in facilitating applied theatre projects for both companies and charities in multiple settings, including; The Royal Opera House (Take Five Summer School), Opera Holland Park (Out of the park Opera, Opera for Thought, Schools Tour and Matinee 2019) and Barons Court Project.

As well as an experienced performer and facilitator, I am also a creative freelancer with vast experience in undertaking a multitude of creative projects, from art &  photography to freelance writing. I have worked for schools, corporate and independent businesses, charities, theatre companies and community groups.
